Store will bring crafts, food, throws and more in a new airport shopping experience.
Irish retailer Avoca has opened its first travel retail store at The Loop, Dublin Airport’s airside shopping complex in Terminal 2.
The 86-square-metre space will offer “core elements of the Avoca brand experience”, selling Irish-made products including woollen throws, ceramics and craft fashion.
Passengers will also be able to buy a selection of Avoca food, including organic salmon, fresh meats, jams and chutneys, oils and dressings, teas and coffees and baked goods such as Rice Krispie squares, rocky road buns and fresh fruit cakes.
Dublin Airport declined to provide an investment figure.
“Together with The Loop, we have handpicked a small range of our beautiful gifting products which we hope will bring enjoyment and a sense of fun to the airport shopping experience,” said Avoca Managing Director, Tara O’Neill.
Avoca began life as an 18th-century handweaving co-operative in Co. Wicklow. The original mill was bought and built into a successful food, clothing and lifestule brand by the Pratt family, before being sold to US catering services giant Aramark for over €60 million in 2015.

Dublin Airport has been revamping its food and retail offerings in recent years, including an €8 million, 18,300-square-foot retail area airside in Terminal 1.
daa is also seeking bidders for a new, terminal-linked hotel.
